Google just came out with some straight forward talk about Blog Comment Spam. Yes, this is a problem as if you own a blog you get comment spam on a regular basis. One WordPress plugin which is really helpful is the Spam Karma plugin. What I like about it is not only does it protect you from Spam comments, but if some get through, a simple click of the “spam” option blocks that domain from posting again.
Nice.

The main reason I started the SEO Revolution was out of frustration. Frustration at all of the lies and misconceptions that are posted in forums, given as advice in teleconferences, and even taught in live workshops. "So why didn't all of this work?" " Why wasn't my site successful?" " Why am I still stuck in a rut?"
What about Pingbacks? Do they count as spam to? Shouldn’t blog users stop those.
I read the google article and they always say ‘improve your content’ to get higher rankings, even if you have good content the big players will just always rank higher and google is so dominating that if your not on the first page your pretty much will get no visitors.
I liked it better a few years when surfers used other search engines and it was an open playing field.
…….see I left comment and didn’t even leave a plug

I’ve been hearing about this Spam Karma plugin, but have been using Akismet for a few years now and I don’t know if it’s worth switching. Are there any advantages of using Karma over Akismet… or are they pretty much synonymous?
