This change has been needed for awhile, and hats off to Google for finally implementing it. Many sites have LONG URLs and it would make the SERPs, well, look messy. Now, if the URL is long, Google will use “Breadcrumb Navigation” instead. Here is a screen shot. Notice the breadcrumb navigation in green:

Google Moves to Breadcrumb Navigation in SERPs

The main reason I started the SEO Revolution was out of frustration. Frustration at all of the lies and misconceptions that are posted in forums, given as advice in teleconferences, and even taught in live workshops. "So why didn't all of this work?" " Why wasn't my site successful?" " Why am I still stuck in a rut?"
Hi Jerry,
This is a very interesting post. I haven’t seen this appear on any of my sites’ urls in the serps and I have breadcrumbs on all sites. Is there any particular way that we need to code sites or any recommendations on how to help google show this in serps?
Our location of the breadcrumbs is always near the top of the page.
Thanks,
Andrew
