On Sunday night after StomperNet Live8, I resigned from my faculty position. I want to publicly state before any rumors get started that this has nothing to do with my relationship with Brad Fallon or the direction StomperNet is going. This has to do with focusing on my core business and getting back to basics.
After tracking in my business journal the amount of time, effort and distraction StomperNet was causing me, I was shocked. I started tracking it because I had a few members of the SEO Revolution tell me that ever since I joined the StomperNet faculty, the quality of my SEO information fell and I was focused more on Affiliate Marketing. That made total sense as I was the Affiliate expert with StomperNet.
I want to stress that I have no ill will towards Brad, and I think their launch next month will be very successful. StomperNet will go on without me and they will continue to be successful. I greatly enjoyed helping their members reach a higher level of success while I was there.

The main reason I started the SEO Revolution was out of frustration. Frustration at all of the lies and misconceptions that are posted in forums, given as advice in teleconferences, and even taught in live workshops. "So why didn't all of this work?" " Why wasn't my site successful?" " Why am I still stuck in a rut?"
Hi Jerry
good decision to focus on your priorities again. Anybody who has done SEO knows that it takes an incredible amount of time and work for testing and research. Live is short and a day just has 24 hours.
Gunter
Thanks Gunter. It wasn’t an easy decision because I love the members of StomperNet. I just had to do what was best for me, my family and my customers. Very true, life is short – live it to the fullest!
Hi Jerry
congratulations on taking this brave decision and very best wishes going forward.
Tony
I saw how much energy you put into the stompernet forums when I was a member, so I’m kinda glad i’m now out of stompernet and in SEO Revolution
Good luck Jerry!
Wish you the best Jerry – wherever you are putting out your content, it’s always tops.
Jerry,
Thats good news for seorevolution but bad news for stompernet. I am sure with more time focussed on seorevolution, we will get quality information from you.
I love the way you just speak your mind without sounding like you’re hurt. And I wish you all the best with SEO Revolution!
~Osobase
Hi Jerry,
That must have been tough, StomperNet has given you some great exposure, which must be hard to walk away from.
I admire your decision to get back to what you do best.
Over the years we have always known you as our “best kept secret”, loved the time you have given us and will continue to be loyal followers.
[...] Death of StomperNet! First it is Andy Jenkins, now it is Jerry West saying bye, bye, Jerry West Resigns from StomperNet Faculty who's next? p.s. couldn't [...]
Hi Jerry
Congratulations on making this life-changing decision.
Sometimes we can get caught up in something that feels safe and warm, but when we analyze it, it just does not return those factors that makes up truly happy.
I never bought into Stompernet myself, but I know how hard you work and how passionate you are about SEO, so it is fantastic news that you are now going to dedicate more time to keeping your customers informed on current SEO best practices.
Go Jerry – Good luck Mate. I really wish you well.
Dave
Hey Jerry,
I stayed with you throughout and will continue to subscribe to SEO Revolution. I bet you had a great time working as part of a bigger whole, but that’s not really why you started out all those years ago.
I hope you enjoy running your own timetable now!
Welcome back, and good luck!
Julia
Hey Jerry..
You got to prioritize your work, and a great decision there!
All the very best!
Rk
Sometimes we have to make these tough decisions and do what we feel is best for us. I’m really glad that I was able to see you and hear your thoughts at StomperNet Live8 this past weekend in Atlanta. Very enjoyable! I learned a lot from your talks there, and will continue to learn from you into the future.
I just hope that you will always want to share your knowledge with us all. What you do makes such a difference in so many people’s lives in the IM world.
Good luck and continued success!
Tom
Times change! Friends often take different paths and remain friends. You have made a calculated decision it seems based on logic. Brad will move-on as you have. I must admit, I’ve missed your more consistent SEO input. Looking foward to hearing more from you.
All the best for the future!
Jerry,
You are setting a great example in place of priority setting, time management, and impression management.
I salute you.
Ok, let’s do not fool ourselves, I appreciate you trying to be nice to Brad and stompernet. We all know how much you loved Andy, and we know that now that Andy is gone because he “sold his share” of stompernet to Brad in a friendly way (bullshit) you have now decided to leave too. Come on Jerry, you have always been a straight shooter and honest person.
I will be ok for you to say the truth, you did it because Andy is not there anymore and you are not happy about something but you wish stompernet success.
To be honest, I am thinking on joining your membership because you were the heart of stompernet for a very long time. Brad was never arround stompernet forums and the teachers were you, leslie and Dan.
Stompernet is great for newbies, alot of information there, but after 1 year it makes no sense to be there, $800 per month just one video once in a while or some teaching that is really new or break through ….anyways, Jerry, you will do much better here, but the way you worked so hard for stompernet and the quality of work you did there , how can that be replaced?
I am also leaving stompernet.
Joe

Hey Jerry,
Congrats.
Now you’ll be able to spend more time chomping on lobster:

Best regards
Anthony
Good decision. I found you on Stompernet and when my business budget improves I plan to join your continuity program.
Hi Jerry
I hope for stompernets sake no one else leaves soon as it will look too bad, however it is spun.
Congratulations on your move. I guess you have some savings to tide yuo through, or a strong enough business, although your affiliate earnings with local tax, etc. just suffered, right?
I’m hoping you can expand soon. Outsource, automate and expand.
It’s hard for someone like me to invest in pure SEO because the results are even slower to come and harder to assign, than marketing. LOL
So furonically I’m hoping you also extend to affiliate advice, which is your second bow any way.
Whatevr you do, please remember why I did not join stompernet.
Small people like me, need a cheap step on the ladder. For $27 per month, if I can see some actual benefit, then I might pay more, or even go direct consult (probably more likely than a generic “club”).
I know how iportant pure SEO is, but as any of us can post links on socail bookmarking and get traffic within 6 hours, it’s quite hard to justify it these days. Maybe you can re-explain how SEO fits in social networking, these days?
Email me and I can tell you more why it is no longer “natural”. Maybe we cna do somethign about that together.
Congratulations again on your new job. CEO.
Peace and light.
Peter
Good decision Jerry and delivered in a cool way
I look forward to hearing more from you / SEO revolution
Best wishes
ed
Come on dude, tell the truth.
You are pissed that I know more than you and I made you look stupid this weekend.
Ross
We will miss you, Jerry, but you know that we wish you and your family the absolute best. I’m glad you’re taking care of *you*!
I know we’ll be in touch.
Much love (but you know that),
~Jayne H. from StomperNet
Must have been a really tough decision for you, but a much welcomed decision for us at SEORevolution. I like others felt your material was watered down these past few months but i didn’t say anything. Glad you are on board “full time”. Can’t wait to see some new videos – they are may favorites and the main reason why I joined SEORevolution last year!
Here is an opportunity to thank you for all of the help you have provided me so far and now for “more” help you will be able to provide us starting today.
Steve
Does this 2 man exit mean you’ll be working with Andy “The Devil” Jenkins? Hope No!
Jerry,
I was Stomper member form the beginning (when it was just a few CDs and some teleclasses) and resigned my membership 2 months ago. Whatever is going on I hope things get better there.
I know things will get better here now you are able to focus more
)
You have my total support Jerry,
Richard
Hi Jerry.
I just want to thank you for bringing unbiased information to the online marketing scene. I have the feeling that most of the so called gurus are dishonest and keep pitching everything to their list that can make them a quick buck.
I associate your name with honesty and i am supportive of whatever you will be doing.
It takes great courage to walk away from an opportunity like stompernet which does only increase the trust i have in you and your decisions.
Keep up the good work.
Jerry,
This was a bit of a shock this morning. Then again, you are always about the shock factor! LOL You know that you like to spring the surprise.
Seriously though, good on you for using that business journal and paying attention to it. You know that whatever you are doing and wherever you go, I will support you and pay attention to what you have to say about seo. Who couldn’t. All of those test domains are the ones that are actually saying it.
Good Luck!
Hey Ross – Say it like it is!.
Jerry – You were extremely helpful to me in Stompernet and I am sure that will continue in SEO Rev. Everything has a beginning middle and end – if one understands that then you can keep things in perspective. Keep the great info coming, create value for people and they will be lining up for your stuff! Good Luck.
Jerry,
You gave so much to StomperNet! The 3-4 hour long Faculty Office Hours, countless videos, 4,855 forum posts (I just checked), and the unquantifiable wisdom and–often funny!– sage advice you shared will be greatly missed.
You gave so much of yourself and we all love you and want what’s best for you. Thanks so much for everything you have taught me personally about internet marketing, how to run a business, and how to be a good person.
Andrea

Hi Jerry.
I used to be in SN.
And you were, hands down, the only clear voice for me
when I was there.
Congrats on your “new” plans and moves.
Lou
Hey Jerry,
Thanks for all the information you have so graciously shared. You have had a great impact on my business. You do not know me personally, but I am glad to have crossed paths with you.
Talk soon,
Shannon
You looked very dapper that night, I must say.
I was not familiar with your work before going to my first SNL last weekend, but I am going to check out your SEO Revolution because you really know your stuff! Best wishes Jerry.
Fran.
Best wishes Jerry on this new direction!
I’m sure it will be successful and valuable like everything you do.
Always great to hear from you Jerry. Next time you’re in SLC please do stop by. I’m with you, focus on your core – or initiatives that strengthen your core. Everyone will want you to partner – but in the end you can loose too much focus and distract priorities.
Hi Jerry,
Tough decision but a great one for us at SEORevolution. I do agree with you and the others, SN took away from you and us – your true family! I will be looking forward to your videos again. The videos is what drew me into SEORevolution. They are extremely informative.
Welcome back!
Steve
Jerry,
Thanks for all your help over the years and sharing your knowledge, etc.
You are truly one-of-a-kind!
I have the highest Respect for you!
thank you
Hi Jerry,
well I think you know how much respect for you I have and my opinion of your amazing contribution to Stompernet and all its members.
Having been on every single one of your faculty calls for almost 3 years there are few words to describe the value that you gave, which was incredible
I will definitely follow you and all your testing as it keeps everyone on track as nothing lasts forever as we know.
To say you will be missed at Stompernet seems an understatement.
Good luck to you and your family
Regards,
Andrew (Australia)
Hi Jerry,
Learned a LOT from you over the years. Best Wishes.
I am your FAN and will be where ever you go.
Will miss you at Stompernet
God bless you and your family.
Siddique

Jerry, it was a pleasure meeting you and Rich this past weekend at SNL8. I have learned a lot from your almost 5k posts and 3 hour FOHs in SN. I look forward to being a member of the SEO Revolution to continue to learning from you.
I will keep you posted on the results from taking action from your session on Thursday night.
Who the Fuck is Ross Goldberg?
I’m more surprised to see you all suited up in HOTlanta than I am by this news!
Good on you for keeping track of priorities. One of my fave Don Henley lines seems appropriate: “Sometimes you get the best light from a burning bridge…”
Hi Jerry,
Congratulations on your courageous decision! I know that you’ll do well.
Oh, and I can’t wait for your affiliate marketing course!
Best always.
I think Ross Goldberg is the Ebay Guru!
Hey Jerry
I want to say thank you personally for all I have learned from your immeasurable wealth of knowledge. Thanks for all you have given the StomperNet community and I know that blessings and happiness are sure to follow you in whatever you endeavor.
Kindest Regards,
Joyce Brister
Hey Jerry,
Good luck, and thanks for all you contributed with your excellent work!
See you on the “outside”!
Howard
Jerry,
You are the man. I’ve always eaten up your teaching and information. In my opinion your SEO stuff has always been the best. I’m looking forward to your new direction. My business partner and I are members to your site and we’re pumped that your focus is going back to SEO.
The seo information and help you gave to me and my business partner just at the stompernet live7 dinner was worth more than a years membership at your site, so I cannot wait for the stuff your going to bring now.
Looking forward to it.
Who the f*ck are you Ross Goldberg?
I’ll state right here and now that Jerry’s research and subsequent Google Best Practices Guide helped me get my sh*t back in one sock. I had almost forgotten what really works on Goolge and thanks to Jerry and his matter of fact way of explaining things AS WELL AS the fact he hasn’t asked for $800 per month for the information says alot for his character. Only $47 bucks and my web business is back on the tracks.
Wow! That’s some news Jerry. You have always been one of my “go to” people for SEO information and your help has been greatly appreciated both in StomperNet and in SEO Revolution, which I’ve been a member of for quite awhile now. Best of luck ramping it up! Looking forward to it. I’ll be along for the ride!
George
