So far so good … sitting on the plane in Charlotte, North Carolina ready to take off. No snow storms like last time.
We are seeing some good fluxes with Google that I am chasing down. My arrival in Vegas is set for 6pm Pacific. I have stops in Atlanta and Cincinnati. Should be a killer week! Stay tuned …

On the Way to Webmaster World
Google Slap 2?
We are seeing signs of a “Google Slap 2″ today … hang onto your shorts, this could be a bumpy ride.
Updates Forthcoming …
It looks like things are back to normal with the upcoming PubCon. Looks like there is a small PageRank update underway, Google has made some updates, the Landing Page score is getting a refresh, and MSN is doing an update as well.
Hang on tight, some big things are coming down…
Text Link Ads Gets Acquired
I just got an email that Text Link Ads was acquired by MediaWhiz. I guess congrats are in order for Patrick Gavin and we should have lots to talk about at Webmaster World next week.
You can read more on the official press release.
Google Acquires AdSense.com Domain
Search Engine Watch reported that Google finally came to terms for the domain AdSense.com. I guess they got sick of all the Google AdSense inquires. If they were smarter, they would have spun off a division and did Google AdSense consulting … or hosted AdSense ads directly on the site …
Webmaster World – Ask a Question
The time has come to post your questions for me to ask while at Webmaster World in Las Vegas next week. Head over to the SEO Revolution Forums and ask (membership required). They say it is going to be the biggest and the best Webmaster World of all time. We shall see…
MSN Live Still Getting “Played” by Spammers
One of the biggest complaints about MSN was the amount of Spam that was present. Especially Sub-Domain Spam and Blog Spam. Thus, MSN Live was born. And of course, Blog Spam has creeped back in and is flooding the top ten results.
For example, Debt Consolidation is an area where I am an affiliate, and a search for “debt consolidation” is riddled with Blog Spam. The best part is these Blogs are using redirects to send to PPC hosted pages for monetization.
Link Effect
Over at Webmaster World there has been a good thread going about how long it takes Google to count a link. One post states that they have seen a high quality link from a trusted site have positive affects on rankings in as little as week.
I am posting my findings from testing results in the SEO Revolution Newsletter.
Webmaster World – Vegas!
In what is being called the biggest Webmaster World event ever in Vegas in about two weeks, the buzz is already starting. I will be there along with many familiar faces. Matt Cutts of Google and Tim Mayer of Yahoo! will be there as well … and their entertaining style should keep the conference sharp. If you are planning to attend, send me a note and hopefully we can talk search during the week.
PPC Fraud Coming to Audio Soon
It was announced that Google plans to launch AdSense for Audio soon. Google is looking to be able to monetize the rapidly growing market of Podcasts and other “on demand” audio products via the web. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if click fraud sees an increase, as the market will be mainly a younger crowd.
AOL Rumors Heat Up Again
As what seems to be now the “Festival of AOL” where AOL hasn’t been in the news for some time, so rumors of its purchase flood the news. Currently, Yahoo! is the “leader” with Google wanting a piece too because it doesn’t want to lose out to Yahoo!, and then, Microsoft has to get involved because it can’t allow Google to get anything else.
I don’t know about you, but it sounds pretty pathetic to me.
We all know the reason that AOL is being pursued isn’t because of their technology – as it is awful. It is their list. According to my contact at Microsoft, who asked not to be named or he’d probably be fired, the reason the AOL list is so great is “those people tend to be more gullible than others and can be easily swayed to buy things they don’t need.”
Didn’t Bill Gates invent the marketing ploy of having people buy things they didn’t need?
I will continue my current pace, and “yawn” whenever AOL “talks” are mentioned.

The main reason I started the SEO Revolution was out of frustration. Frustration at all of the lies and misconceptions that are posted in forums, given as advice in teleconferences, and even taught in live workshops. "So why didn't all of this work?" " Why wasn't my site successful?" " Why am I still stuck in a rut?"
