Competitve Ad Filter in AdSense

Discussion over at Webmaster World about competitors or “blocked URLs” still showing up in AdSense ads. The way the system is supposed to work is as follows:

1) You have Google AdSense on your site (i.e. Displaying Google AdWords ads)
2) Competitor A shows up as an ad on your site
3) You login to the admin and place that URL in the “block URL” to filter it from displaying on your site

Makes sense and has worked well since its launch, however, site owners are reporting that they are having problems.

We have checked all of our sites that use AdSense and none of the blocked URLs are displaying. There are many who are reporting it is happening to them and it doesn’t seem to be “user error”. I would highly advise you to check your sites and if it is happening, delete it, reinput it, and then wait about four hours and check, it should be removed. If not, sent a note to your rep or to Google.
