A Strange Happening in the Google Index

Last month as the instability of Google occurred, one thing that happened which created great excitement in the community was that domains that had been previously banned by Google came back. However, it didn’t last long as about ten day later, the sites were gone again. I mentioned at the time that I felt something was broken with Google and received confirmation recently from within GooglePlex. One of the main filtering systems went down, thus the flood up sites that were previously banned came back.

If you had this happen so your site, there is good news in this. This means that your site is indexed by Google, that they have it, it is just that you have done something in the past (i.e. Traffic Power, Cloaking, JavaScript Redirects, etc.) to get your site banned. Often the issue is fast - other times it is lengthy and painful. Depending upon what you did, is usually based on how much time it takes to get back in. The more serious the “sin” the longer you stay out of the index.
